Lessons learned as a young leader

Advocating for a cause: It is integral to identify a cause impacting you and the others around, have a clear vision and start a campaign to attain the vision

– Communication is the key: Right and consistent messaging will gather, retain and increase supporters.

– Persistence: Never taking NO for an answer, having unwavering belief in the vision and continuing to fight for the vision will definitely guarantee success.

Top Tips for aspiring young leaders

1. Self Reflection: Discovering one’s strengths, weaknesses and passion is the starting point to having a clear vision for oneself and the society.
2. Working on strengths: Building on strengths and striving to become experts in the areas of passion while developing key skills like communication, emotional awareness, confidence, time management and discipline are significant qualities for leadership.
3. Translating Thoughts into Actions Promptly: Developing a fearless attitude to experiment, act quickly, fail quickly and renovate and bounce back quickly is the pattern I have observed with many successful leaders in politics and entrepreneurship.
